Got a selection of GOOD STEALS on sale, stranger! (Part 1)

running into the arms of a soilders’ soul

picked up that humble nintendo bundle for a cheap SFIV 3ds, and got Freedom Planet and i can’t believe i’ve never heard of this, for being such a blatant Sonic fan project. (definitely skip the story and the dialogue) i’m about a level in and it’s pretty fun, i like the sprites and it’s got a bit of a Mega Man X feel to it in some little ways.

I told you

I told all of you

Quality game+mode with no story nonsense

Just wait, playing the other characters who aren’t Lilac the dragon fursona (well, technically she would be a scaly by virtue of being a dragon but that’s neither here nor there) is like getting bonus game after you finish it with her (Milla in particular is like a whole other game grafted onto the side)

Humble Store is having a sale

A.I. War with all expansions 3.40

Volgar the Viking 2$

Are there any games in the Devolver Digital sale I have to get? I already have Hotline 1, Gungeon, Broforce. I have Downwell, Shadow Warrior, Fistful of Gun, and Titan Souls in my cart right now.

hotlne 1, titan souls, and downwell would be my strongest recommendations. most of that stuff is pretty good though.

Downwell is fantastic and is worth getting at the low price. I also loved the new Shadow Warrior, basically it’s an arena shooter where you do lots of slicing with a sword. Also it’s very pretty and the script is surprisingly good (but takes a bizarre tone shift towards the end). It can get repetitive but it kept me entertained enough to the end. I haven’t played the other ones in your cart (but own them lol)

How is the original shadow warrior multiplayer? If it’s good @sufresh you should get in on it

Heavy Bullets is the game not usually spoken of that I’d recommend. Randomized FPS with a very cool aesthetic and a neat gimmick (you only get 6 bullets, you gotta go retrieve them after they are fired) that doesn’t work as a true roguelike “infinite replayability” way, but does keep you on your toes as you try to finally make it all the way through to the end. Won’t be for everyone, but for $2.49 I’m comfortable recommending it.

Titan Souls is also pretty snazzy. I like the pixel art and the bosses on average are rather well designed, which is good as they make up like 90% of the game. Much more pixel Shadow of the Colossus than Dark Souls (has like nothing at all in common with the latter other than a dodge roll).

I loved Olli Olli (haven’t played the sequel yet). It is basically like someone wanted to make a 2d platformer based on Skate except with more of a Tony Hawk combo system. That’s like designed to appeal specifically to me so I may be biased, but if that sounds like a neat thing then consider it.

Hatoful Boyfriend is… a wonder. I experienced it via a Let’s Play and bought it just to support that special blend of madness. A Let’s Play might be the best way to experience it though.

Haven’t yet played The Talos Principle but a lot of people with decent taste who dig puzzle games enjoyed it a good deal.

Does anyone think Killer is Dead is worth $4

I do!

I do as well! Not quite sure why we’re the only two around here that appreciates the game, but it’s one of the better Suda joints in my opinion.

In the most recent Humble Bundle you can get Snakebird in the name-your-price tier (plus 1001 Spikes which I haven’t played but some people seem to like).

Snakebird is pretty awesome, you should probably go buy it if you haven’t already.

GOG’s summer sale is on.

Tempted to grab Sunless Sea since it’s half-off right now. Is it worth it?

I mean, I loved it, my favorite game in a long time. That said, I think your mileage could vary greatly. A lot of the game can become very repetitive but you could be like me and derive a great deal of enjoyment from the narrative drip-feed. The worldbuilding is top notch, IMHO, as is the writing.

Thirding Killer is Dead. It has that great budget game feel that half of us love Suda51 for, and getting it at a price to match is perfect.

Best Buy has some PS4 games for 15 USD right now, including Bloodborne and Until Dawn (which I have not tried yet).

until dawn is a lot of fun for fifteen bucks

And now Amazon has the same discounts on Bloodborne and Until Dawn. If the preview below shows a higher price for Bloodborne, that apparently has to do with which sellers have it in stock at the moment.
