Kero Blaster is the shit. What a cool little game, and frog, and coat.
Furi is quite good! Beat the first boss on the first try and the second boss on the second. Funnily enough it only has tearing issues on ps4 during the opening cutscene ⦠Presentation is really good even if itās visually last gen to a T. Basic-ass good game in a year thatās been hard up for those. Also, as the eurogamer review noted, there are very few indie developers who make a genuine effort at this style of action game.
In addition to what Felix said, the second fight also gave me some nice MGS 2 boss fight vibes (sans any dialogue at all!).
My favorite massive project was draining the ocean into hell. That was a good time.
So no shortage of obsidian thenā¦
furi is great! but I REALLY wish they cut out the unskippable cutscenes in engine where you have to actually walk your character to the next part
because holy crap the writing is like watching two five-year-olds play action figures with each other
āyouāll REGRET that!ā
āthat was a MISTAKEā
āiāll send you back to where you CAME FROMā
āyouāll NEVER defeat meā
man no way I love those
the new one ? Looked kinda like all the other open world racing games. Ever played Test Drive Unlimited 2? you can get plastic surgeryā¦
Itās a generic open world racing game that happens to be really, really pretty.
It does look pretty good but I donāt see anything substantially different than Forza Horizon. Whereas TDU-2 is just an incredibly weird, surreal experience. The story mode is bonkers, you start out exploring a mansion party on Ibiza and from there youāre given a sweet Ferrari and a whole island to explore. itās just a meditative, bizarre game that laid the foundation for all of the open world racers we have now: sprawling maps, online play and an intense focus on the 18-25 demographic. Now that Iām rewatching the story mode, Iām getting a strong Yu Suzuki vibe.
furi sure is making me think I should be playing assault android cactus
which is probably the best compliment I can afford it? I think?
You should never not be playing Cactus
Fun fact: Thereās an indication for every stage if you S+ it with every character. There is no achievement for this, probably because why would you do this but do it anyway
The downside to doing this is having to play Shiitake and Aubergine on pad
Furi is pretty great.
I played enough Age of Decadence to route a pacifist sub-6-minute speedrun.
Itās a weird game because talking is by far the easiest way to play the game but it advertises so heavily on its complex and deadly combat mechanics. And those combat mechanics ARE good, they just suck in the first hour until you get enough skill points that you can use all the tools available somewhat reliably. It manages the impressive trick of having RNG at the heart of combat but not being a game about save-scumming past the RNG because it has a relatively low impact on the game compared to the corny excesses of⦠practically every other turn based tactical rpg.
On the other hand, the way skill checks are set up produces a strong incentive to save scum before every important npc dialogue, just to figure out what skills you should focus on, and to save up any skill points you earn until you know you need them to pass a skill check. Thatās not great, though the writing for talking routes is way more fun than the dumb meathead murdergod route.
The ending area of the game is blatantly riffing on Fallout 1ās final area in a lot of ways.
Jesus Christ Ultra Despair Girls just has a character casually mention they are a pedophile. The english text softens it but the J-dub makes it damn clear. Then they just move on.
Previously they did have a different character that was a kid and had clearly been sexualy assaulted several times and that was played for tragedy.
This one was played as just a comment.
The missus is really into Neko Atsume right now.
idgi
I have never played this game but I will for sure look at gifs of it whenever they appear.
I got a 120hz gsync display (my god, itās full of stars) and I couldnāt think of anything to play on it so Iām trying out the xcom 2 dlc
itās OK. this game goes really far in the matsuno direction of letting you make some god characters! itās extremely inelegant compared to the step forward for the genre that was invisible inc but itās still pretty neat I guess
I just did the same (just built a VR machine), and,
nu-DooM is excellent on it
anything floaty and physics-y feels real nice (that game what I worked on is like butter poured on my eyeballs)
I bet Just Cause would be excellent
Stardew Valley has harvested my soul indeed
I might have to start playing differently because Iām on the last week of the first fall and I have something like 75,000 monies even after buying basically all the upgrades I can find
