no way
I keep eyeballing the PSVR like a damned fool. That Borderlands 2/Beat Saber bundle isnât quite the game combo Iâm lookinâ for, but it does come with those wands thatâll let me (presumably) go wild sculpting in Dreams.
Maybe I just really want Dreams!
In other damned fool exercises - played some Just Cause 4. ItâsâŚgod I always say âitâs another one of those,â but it is?
Itâs also pretty rough looking. Runs like a champ, which you couldnât really say of 3, but it takes a visual hit for sure.
Messing around with the new types of tethers is pretty fun, though only a few seem to be practical. Then again, practicality probably isnât the point!
Because Iâm sure this is a concern to most - the wingsuit feels weird in this one. I donât know what changed. Just doesnât quite have that same feel as it did in 3.
Played through it yesterday with a 3 and 6 year old, they spotted some details l hadnât, like how the sea horse and dragon were related
For some reason, reading these posts made me think of a game where you play as a slaughter-happy sociopath, but as he levels up his empathy increases and so despite becoming stronger he also becomes reluctant to actually engage in combat
what youâre talking about would be itâs own neat unique thing, but that is kinda what the genocide route in Undertale is supposed to be up until you hit the point of no return
I wish Undertale was more mechanically savvy in actually implementing this theme. Being genocidal doesnât feel good or bad mechanically,itâs just kind of a slog. Maybe thatâs the point but it doesnât really reinforce the idea very well
Yeah, having played most of Drakengard (get all but ending E) the game just felt very scattered on that message. In setting Caim seems fairly justified in his genocidal rage as a whole empire is sacking his country for the sole purpose of ending the world as they know it. Whats more is they canât be negotiated with as everyone is red eyes crazy. As this is a video game power fantasy, Caim is able to follow through on this. In this set up I just never felt that bad about killing what was in front of me knowing the stakes.
I think it was much more effectively pulled off in Nier in the section leading up to the Shadowlord fight where the true nature of the shades was laid bare (More so on the B route) it really struck me then that I was playing the part of a monster yet could not stop because if I did there wouldnât be an ending and I wanted that closure even if it meant I had to keep playing that role.
Hopelessly addicted to Dissidia Final Fantasy Opera Omnia. Itâs a turn-based RPG take on the Dissidia HP/BRV resource management system. There is gacha, but it is for weapons and not for characters, which can be obtained by completing story missions or limited time âlost chapterâ events. Turning the setting to low power consumption sips a tiny bit of battery and it still looks pretty damn good. Just having a chill time on public transit trying to break the battle system.
Just got done with Titanfall 2âs single player campaign. I was really hyped up for it because I heard so much good about it and it ended up kinda falling short somewhere in the middle of it. My verdict then would have been that itâs good, even great, and itâs got excellent parts strewn throughout. I just expected even more excellence.
Now that itâs over Iâm revising that and Iâd say it left me feeling very positive about it. Yeah, itâs excellent.
It really picks up when you get gimmicks to play with and also the last stretch is just dope. Itâs got that Portal 2 feeling at times.
What I didnât like were the standard shooter parts. You canât really headshot guys while wall running and I thought that was what the game was about. You sorta have to hang back a lot though and pick dudes off from a distance and from behind cover otherwise you get shredded to pieces. They should have done something about that. The movement system was really only utilized as separate sections of the game where you have to parkour around. Sorta like simple puzzles without enemies. I kept waiting for them to combine the shooting with the parkouring and it never happened.
Itâs got some excellent, excellent guns though. Some are unlike anything Iâve ever played with. I mean, they are still shotguns and auto rifles but theyâve got a unique feel to them. The ones where they clearly give you too much power, or too high a fire rate, or too wide a spread are the ones I like! Those were great.
The story beats were expected and yet hit all the same. It got me emotional. And it was a satisfying ending even though they clearly hoped for a sequel.
There are over 600 people online playing mutliplayer right now, so I could probably get a few games going! I didnât feel like it right after the campaign though, so maybe at another time.
The game is free with Origin Basic, which costs $25 or so per year. Thatâs really not a bad deal for all the stuff thatâs on there. I mean, if you like AAA games. It also has Torchlight 2, which I always wanted to play and now that a sequel is on the way is the perfect time to try it out.
But yeah, Titanfall 2. Excellent game.
Iâm downloading it. You monster, what have you done, I donât need more mobile crap in my life
Obduction is 10 bucks so I bought it. I played it for like, three hours maybe. Then it blew my mind
OK Iâm stuck now
Thatâs like the perfect adventure game curve right there.
Stuck is good. You canât beat a Myst game in one sitting, thatâs just not how it works.
Maybe you canât
I need to rearrange my whole room to play this in VR ugh
Which difficulty did you play on? I played on the one below the hardest and as long as I kept my velocity high I was able to do a lot of melee and point-blank shooting.
Yeah I started out on that one too. It was pretty hard! I later dropped it down to Regular. Now I feel like I played the whole game wrong. Iâll revisit it later and try out some stuff again
Dusted off my long neglected Shield TV and installed about three years worth of updates to it, breaking at least a few games I bought for it years ago! Shit! Sorry Doom 3.
ItâsâŚstill pretty capable, I think, but god what a pain in the ass to set up. Between the input discrepancies of running Android mobile apps on Android TV, a whole mess of plug-ins and input settings, and the nightmare that is navigating RetroArch, Iâm probably better off finally using this Ryzen APU I was given and building a low end emulation PC.
That saidâŚit runs PSP games like a champ? PPSSPP just seems like a solid emulator all-around.
In conclusion - I installed the PBS app and watched like two hours of The Woodwrightâs Shop. What a great show.
We should resolve to go completely FAQless and compare ingame playtimes at the end smartypants
