apparently they never say what it means but most people think it’s “murder, death, kill” which is what i also assumed
that’s what it means in demolition man
same
another one for the cancelled games about thievery pyre
While the precise meaning of the title’s three-letter acronym is never revealed during the game, the gaming press and fans adopted “Murder, Death, Kill”,[51] which was coined as a neologismin the 1993 film Demolition Man. Another possibility is documented in the game manual, where Kurt’s mission is named “Mission: Deliver Kindness”.[19] It could also stand for the first initials of the game’s characters; Max, Dr. Hawkins, and Kurt.[25][52] In the README for the PC version of the game, it is stated “It stands for whatever we say it stands for on any given day; i.e., today it stands for Mother’s Day Kisses…”[53] In the European PC release, the background images during installation present many possible meanings for the letters; one of which is “Murder, Death, Kill”. In the Japanese release, on the back cover it says in bold yellow letters: “My Dear Knight”. During the installation of MDK2, various meanings are shown, again including “Murder, Death, Kill”. The original meaning of “MDK” from the company’s initial promo video was in fact “Murder Death Kill”.[54] In a 2009 interview with NowGamer, David Perry revealed that because the North American publisher PIE was supposed to make toys based on the game, they did not like the title, so the words were removed and simply replaced with “MDK”.[55]
In 2011 on the official GOG.com forum for the game, Nick Bruty (creator of MDK) posted that the letters do indeed stand for “Murder Death Kill”.[56]
KKnD came out the same year… will we ever see a better year for homicidal initialisms than 1997?
Finished up my time with Neon White today and barring a pleasant surprise it’ll probably be my personal game of the year (that I played this year, game came out in '22). The story gets more tolerable as you get used to the characters but is never actually good but the running and jumping around first person obstacle courses as fast as possible looking for corners to cut or sections to skip while just barely in control is so specifically my jam. I’d have probably platinumed it if the rush modes (go through various sets of levels without dying) didn’t seem like too much of a pain.
Yeah I think you’d be very interested in some of the things it’s doing. The way parts of it are built and drawn I’ve never seen anywhere else.
MDK stands for Moon Deception Kubrick
i did not, i’m probably gonna try play the first one first since it’s just a couple of hours long but i did play Messiah which i guess was their whack at an adventure/shooter combo. it had some nice moments - i like that since you control a little cherub possessing people it’s actually kind of character appropriate and optimal to treat combat like the most erratic videogame player and just kill your host body and everything around it by firing rockets into the floor
I still remember an interview for Next Generation where they said it did mean Murder Death Kill in the first game, but in the sequel it stands for Milk Dumplings Kielbasa.
Folks you’re proving my point.
Persona 3 reload is a lot more defensible when you get the DLC that turns every dungeon theme into the JUNES song.
i wonder if duck king and jeezum crow ever explored each other’s bodies
ok game, you can calm down now
My last Pledge Game for the year was Card Fighters Clash on a real NGPC just like I did probably 20 years ago.
I made good on that promise tonight and I still don’t like this game just like I didn’t like it (but still played the whole thing) before. Better Cards Win. There is barely any strategy to the game as a whole outside of hoping to win better cards and have better cards.
I even thought “what if I ditch like half my deck just for the more useful cards?” Nope you have to play with a full deck.
I was thrown back to being miserable in college in the shade of oak trees feeding Clark and Ralf to Leona to deal 1400 damage to my opponent in a turn. I saw the whole game before me and I felt like I was done.
I can at least play some Fighter’s Clash before I put it away. I don’t think I ever really played the minigames or did the unlocks. Or I probably did. Anyways I hated College the end.
this is also the conclusion i reached when i played it and its sequel a few months ago. if you lose a match, you just keep replaying until the draw comes up in your favour. it’s a shame all that great pixel art (and in the second game, great character designs) goes to waste. i wonder if the ds game makes enough changes to be more fun.
