I forgot Killzone 2 had a “shoot the hinges” moment and I got so excited but they didn’t do anything but wait for me to set the c4 charge and I got sad.

really loving my time in Avowed so far (about nine hours, playing pretty quickly). it’s about what you think it would be, but it’s so solid. and the writing is strong, the combat is weighty, the characters aren’t grating…Obsidian’s still got it. it made me pick up a bundle with the two Pillars of Eternity games in it!

I was very pleasantly pleased with it after sticking with it for a while…I definitely like it more than I would otherwise because I’m a pillars head but the writing has grown on me a lot. I couldn’t stand that shit at the start.

Anyways Hi!
I started Prototype (2009).
Really fun game. Appreciate how much of its time the game is. So rule-of-cool edgy. Sad we ever moved away from this stuff. Stealth is a joke, but I imagine the ability to shapeshift as npcs might’ve been really cool to people back in the day.

Finally gonna beat elden ring. Got to DA BEAST. What a gloopy wacky guy. Made short work of Rot Queen, Black Knife, Pollute-a-sax, The All Knowing and Whore-a-loo in 2 sittings. Got the final needle to get out the crazy haunting my eyeballs. Should I go with the Ronny ending? I was going to do chaos but I needed to do that needle quest all the way through to honor mah girl.
Was switching between the guts-dragon-slayer and the lil rot-hammer. The higher speed on the hammer is great. Its nuts with lion claw ash for big boys or the bloodhound step for fierce duels. If I do a new game plus Im def going to use it. I think a speedy arcane build would be neat-o. Maybe that means its time for a new crack at Blood Borne.

I wanna ng+ it but I think if I’m doing souls its gotta be a different one. This one is so played out for me. I can walk through 90% of this giant game in, my, head. That seems unhealthy.

Meanwhile my earnest attempt at Monster Hunter Rise has me exhausted with Rampages, Monster Riding and the overall uber Japanese hub that is somehow less charming than the similar setting in MHPG3rd (or whichever one it was)
Other thoughts:
- Dead chuffed that they brought back Chameleos and my absolute favourite fat-necked bomber boy from World (Bezelgeuse)
- New Monsters are a familiar hodgepodge of past entries that are sufficiently charming however
- Magnamalo is no Nergigante
- The Big Bads are borderline dull but MH struggles with all fights at this scale (unless Jhen Moran)
- Dango Girl and her Dango Song melts my cold dead heart
- Gunlance boost-jumping is too dumb to never be repeated
Now that I’ve broken into Sunbreak I am enjoying different art with Euro Fantasy Castles only to be transported to a jungle with Wroggis that can 2-shot me like the Master Ranker I well and truly am

Finished up the first area in Outer Worlds. Between this and Witcher 1 I am starting to believe that this flavor of RPG works best with open but rather self-contained/smaller worlds. I also have no idea what half this stuff does and am just tossing/scrapping stuff all the time to avoid being overencumbered. There is a bullet time I have only triggered by accident, I completely forgot there was a healing button, I appreciate how much it feels all this stuff isn’t really needed and you can just go around sneaking and shooting folks while doing whatever missions are possible. So far I give it an edge over Outer Wilds.
In Void Stranger I died which makes playing it much less bothersome but feels likely to screw me up at some point down the road. Given that I think it is designed to be replayed some number of times its length is starting to become concerning, I’m like 130 floors in at this point.

Welcome back. I am having trouble finding something to stick to after Crow Country so I dicked around in Capcom stadium 2 and played pocket fighter.

If you’re concerned about Void Stranger’s length, rest assured you only have about 80 more “actual puzzle” floors left. 80 more numbered floors, that is… Also certain helpful things get added on subsequent playthroughs that make it a bit more nuanced than “punch in all the solutions again” (even though you still end up doing this way more than I would like).
