i guess Happy Game is sort of like that, but yeah
i guess it says something that i genuinely thought it was an unironic wholesome game for a bit though. i’ve seen… too much.

I’d thought it was for that party game Party Animals but now I am reconsider
“looter shooter” is like the exact opposite sort of phrase to “cellar door” on the ear. like i never want to hear those words.
also emotional 00’s indie guy music… is this M83? i don’t know them too well

Back in the day it used to be a compliment to say a game looked like a tech demo. Now?

Among Us devs funding other studios is quite a nice gesture. I get the impression they feel the Among Us success was just completely unplanned and this seems like them trying to remove the impostor syndrome in a positive way

i have a friend who works for Innersloth as a programmer, and they miraculously didn’t overscale their company up after Among Us like basically every other successful developer like this does, so i assume they have resources to spare - so props to that. even though i’m not that interested in the games they’re funding.

as an aside it is sad knowing that a lot of people i know back from the early 2010’s blogosphere who talked about liking my writing seem to always get jobs writing on these prestige indie projects and i’ve never been asked once to something like this. the closest was a couple things that didn’t pan out music-wise like 6-8 years ago. not that i’m bitter about it or anything…
