idk i haven’t done a single 80 dungeon run as scholar or white mage where i havent eaten shit and caused a wipe at least once, it’s a little humbling! shadowbringers is the real deal

we all died during eden 6 (the one where you fight geruda, then ifirit, then both, then they fuse) and sonford was the only one left, gunbreaking, and he popped his level 3 tank limit break
and everyone EVERYONE in the chat was like ahh oo wow ive never seen a level 3 tank limit break before so pretty! we basically laid on our lifeless backs watching sonfords fireworks show
we still wiped but it was awesome to see

i really like tanking but im getting misgendered while doing it after fantasiaing to moegadon the exact same way i get misgendered in the fleshzone. it sucks
it doesnt suck when i have a team of tiny cat and dragon and rabbit ladies with me being both impressed by my tallness AND protection. healsluts have it backwards though. tanks are bottoms and performing for the healer. the thrill of seeing my hp dip down and hearing that fucking heal sound effect pop off RULES

Got to Heavensward! Immediate improvement from ARR, I like the story stuff with Lady Iceheart quite a bit so far.
I’m pretty burnt out at this point, so I’m going to take a break for a while until I get the motivation back to keep pressing on. ARR is a real slog, and boy howdy do they need to cut out the majority of that content. Really picks up near the tail end, where the patch content starts happening and you get a bunch of fun group Duty instances. I get the sense there’s more of that going forward, which is good.
In total, it took me two months to get from lvl 1 to lvl 60. I did the free trial to get up to lvl 35, then used a free month card I got at Pax East to get to to 60 (also buying Shadowbringers on sale). I think that puts the lesser content behind me without having had to pay for it.

i took a big break after getting to heavensward too!
im excited that they’re condensing the story for the next patch but i still feel like its going to be lackluster compared to the writiing in other expansions. maybe they’ll rewrite stuff? i mean they have to a little bit i guess

I doubt they’ll rewrite much, all they really have to do is make a lot of plot unimportant quests from 2.1-2.5 optional

i’m trying to get back into my stride with this game, a bit. Stormblood/binging in the first few weeks of Corona kind of burned me out a bit and i have a lot of games i want to play rn. i think i should just like, log on when i’m doing stuff like…hanging out on my laptop doing nothing like right now haha
