I loved how you could walk around the world and bump into people like a boyfriend and girlfriend arguing. The Resident Evil mansion is super fun too. I think Pokemon-likes are some of my favorite games just for details like these.
The second game rebalances the game to make it a lot less predictable and ditches the overworld for a map. I still like it but it’s not a perfect sequel.
Interested in Strive mainly to sink my eyes into as a spectator/aesthete. I kinda dig a lot of the redesigns and love whatever is going on in this timetstamp
I’ve kinda given up interest in other fighters coming this year like KOFXV.
Compressed YT vids aren’t doing this game justice. I wonder what kind of visual disparity there will be between last and current-gen consoles.
It’s completely free to download and play both online and offline right now if you have a PS4 or PS5 so would like to hear what you think about it if you can.
I’m downloading it tonight. I’m completely prepared to feel weird and look fabulous.
The timing on this one is pretty odd but it’s so cute:
Chibi Death is doing a lot for me.
It truly is the Year of the Chibis.
Sheena Ringo down to the mole and surf green Duesenberg Starplayer
Best of five is pretty common for Guilty Gear. Even in Xrd it’s the standard at Mikado outside of tournaments. Even with the high damage the actual rounds feel longer in Strive so far just because nobody’s that good at it yet. Netcode’s good too though. Game’s also pretty good, but there are a couple of characters who are either Bad or (more likely) just taking a lot longer to develop than others (Chipp).
Big yuck. I guess she has stuff to do in the story, but if you did a poll of mid-high level Guilty Gear players and asked who they least wanted to be added, you’d find I-No right up there with Baiken.
that’s not how you spell elphelt
It looks like they are skewing towards more straightforward fighters, at least until the fighting system reaches some kind of polished balance. They’ve even simplified some of the trickier characters; for instance, Eddie doesn’t stay out as long as he does in Xrd. I personally prefer the wacky gimmicks of characters like Zato and Zappa so I’m a bit disappointed, but it looks like they have a coherent vision for how they want this to play.
my biggest impression from the strive beta is how much i love slamming everybody with may’s anchor
well that and wow these lobbies are hard to use and maybe arcsys should design a system that doesn’t immediately drop me into a floor with “racistgoku1488” without any apparent way of blocking/ignoring them
Well, maybe they should’ve answered the actual poll where Baiken was judged most awesomest everywhere except Japan then.
I don’t imagine the voices of people who’ve actually played good Baikens would be that loud compared to the torrent of people hooting and hollering on twitter whenever the official arcsys account posts a picture of her feet.
The saikyo screen transitions make me laugh every time. Put them in the damn game!
Really good Strive thoughts from @pattheflip from last night’s stream:
Getting a little excited for EX FL on Switch. Can someone who has played the old version explain this deck system? Looks like some MOBA shit or SFxT gems
