I expanded the thread to more than just music to have more things to talk about. One of the things that often looks good in animation are rain stories. They can be a plot excuse like The Cat in the Hat Special (now with a cute comic book for you to wash off the taste of the shit film)

One of my last memories in my native country is seeing this book behind the window of a book store. I told my mum that a rainy day activity book would get more use out of me than the sunny one.

A famous rainy day episode is the Bluey one called “Rain.” The staff knew there is no way you can make Sleepytime hit twice as hard. They went in the opposite direction, rather than sentimental, there is whimsy. I have always been a sick kid and never got to play outside in the rain.

I recently caught up with Jessica’s Big Little World. There is an episode that is all about picking up toys out in the rain. It made me realise that I should have become an early child hood educator and child psychologist, because I like the challenge in making media for kids that older viewers can enjoy.

Like how Dr. Seuss insisted adults are just kids that grew up at heart. I wanted to write books for kids in my '20s, but when I hit my '30s, I realised that there is a dearth in foreign language teaching media for kids that is not shit.

That made me want to focus on foreign language aid due to how badly foreign language classes were taught back in my country and the US for elementary, middle, and even high schools. I have gone to American book stores dating back to my fresh man year, and there are so little in the way of teaching kids foreign languages. Kids learn fast and better if you show them the value early.

If you grow up all the way to high school without caring about foreign languages, it is a lot less likely you are going to go out of your way to do it, unless you give too much of a shit about the culture for your target language. You grow to hate foreign language class, you take it just for credits, and then you promptly move on and forget. This is not only in English schools; happens in Spain and France.

A lot of Spanish school kids forget the French they are taught. A lot of French school kids forget the Spanish they are taught. I was in a similar position when I lived back in my native country. You get all the media you really care about well dubbed and translated in a widely used language like English, Spanish, French, or even German, and you don’t see the point in learning a language as a child until high school when you need to for work and higher education. It is all too little; too late. You have to make it fun and useful right from elementary age.

I want to change that. I may not have met and known famous authors like Dr. Seuss, Richard Scarry, Michael Bond, A.A. Milne, Beatrix Potter, Roald Dahl, Tove Jansson, Dick Bruna, etc. in real life, but their old work helped kids and entertain adults to this day. You don’t have to know them personally for their books to have been part of your life.

I don’t think I could handle working with kids directly. I get over whelmed doing social activities, but I like the idea that kids can enjoy and appreciate what you make for them, even after you are dead and gone. If I can live long enough, then I hope to leave behind a body of work for kids who don’t have enough media meant for them in small languages like my own. I didn’t have enough of that as a kid because Galician translations are not as available as Spanish, (Brazilian) Portuguese, Catalan, French, German, Italian, Dutch. Kids deserve more things in their language, even in the small kind.

I have played Night in the Woods to the end a few times. I can’t tell you if those rainy days are scripted events or if they happen at random, but the bgm that you hear in them and the grey palette hit the spot. More games should capture rainy days this well, as long as it is not made like Rain World. That is a good game as well as good music, but it is too hard for me to enjoy the rain.

By the way, I am incredibly queer and brown even for Florida. By no means, I have posted this to make fun of gay and queer users. Melody Nosurname herself is LGBT, and sometimes I can have the sense of humour of a twelve years old, or those anime dubs full to the brim with forced swears, like what you got for Manga Entertainment and lines in old anime VHS tape fan subs.

If you feel slighted or attacked, please reach out to me through this thread or a PM. I can pretty much tell you living in Florida has made it risky for me to go out or express myself as an LGBT person, so I get it myself, it sucks not being able to dress or look in any way that puts a target on my back by bigot groups who hate me if I so much look in their direction.

I am posting just because I needed to blow more steam off, yell at the cloud over my house, out of the window like from Network just because I am stuck living here. Think Gummo being your daily life. I don’t use this word around any of my LGBT friends if they are not finding humour out of it.

There are LGBT slurs I don’t tolerate in any context, which I won’t reiterate ever, but I guess this one has just lost all power over me, because when you have relatives and “family” use it near me (in my native language), you grow to hate yourself and internalise all the slurs you get. At one point, I feel hurt enough to yell back at them, “Yeah, I am a f••••t, so what?” I really do hate being trivialised offline by loved ones.

I love how he mumble his personal life more than 9 mins before shows the laptop up.

I do consider of bought a IBM T40 for windows 98 standalone but in the end I bought a PANASONIC CF-SZ6, it works better for modern common usages (PCEM with J-keyboard works fine for me until far).
