Fading Brakelight Obscurity II - Championship Edition

This struck me as high but the Tesla based on the Lotus is 2877.

Batteries are fucking heavy yo

But when put under the cabin they make the center of gravity very close to the ground and the resulting handling is excellent

Yeah, makes total sense. I was just thinking like, cute kei car! But this thing weighs as much as my Mazda 3.

that has made my morning, and probably my day. Thanks, had a good laugh here!
Now, for a reboot of that (non-existant) Unstoppable Franchise… :sunglasses:

For some reason that exhaust note coming out of that body seems wrong.

Yes

OK, it wasn’t me, so who did do that SB paintjob on that 911?

Come forth, we don’t bite, and we won’t condemn you for not doing it on a Fiat 131 Abarth, if you do that next. With a bit more black.

In 2013 I tried in-vain to buy a Porsche 911. A good one was 15-18K but I had no credit so I was fighting with banks while Im trying to hold deals together only to have someone swoop in and offer a few extra $K and bust the whole thing. This happened 3 times. The last (4th) one the guy took it to get pre-inspected for me and fell back in love with the car. Then the 50 year anniversary of the 911 hit and those 15-18K cars were suddenly worth 25-40K.

So now when I see a 911, especially a fancy one I think about how 1. Ill never own this car now and 2. how if I had built credit early I could have made 10K+ overnight.

When I was shopping for an M Roadster I remember thinking “why would I pay $11k for an old German sports car when I can pay $8k for a less old German sports car” and now yes the air cooled dream is truly dead for the non-wealthy but there is still the 996 hopefully people keep hating it but I wouldn’t hold my breath.

I’ve resigned myself to the fact that I will probably always drive a used Miata as my fun car. The bonus is that they are reliable, parts are cheap, and you can fix them with swear words.

I have resigned myself to probably never having a fun car and only admiring them from afar and daydreaming of a passion project in the garage

My garage passion project is 5 years old! Its been a real journey. Maybe I’ll finish by summer.

I think I figured out a really cheap fun “sleeper” project and that is to start with a 90s ford Festiva (secretly a mazda 121) which will take any mazda B series (not bp) engine including the B6T. For like 2K you would have most if not all of the parts to build a car that (with its interior intact) would weight 1500lbs (680kg) and have 130hp. which is pretty exciting. Who knows with an ecu and a tune maybe you could hit 180hp.
Being a Mazda there are go fast parts available including coilover suspension.

Sure its a hateful econobox on the outside, but inside, its a fast hateful econobox.

I love the Festiva even in stock form. A person on another forum I used to frequent had a turbo sleeper one he called the “Fastiva”

I said this because the Racing Apex twitter ceased giving weekly updates some time ago. But I spoke too soon.
