But like, objectively, no

Actually, you know what, if you’re willing to get a vintage motorcycle helmet refurbished you have the exact temperament to have an FB RX-7

I’m not seriously considering it, prius+gladius (together they combine to form a priapism, ha ha ha) is more than I need for now and after that I’m mostly waiting to see what happens with the next generation of e-NV200 and MX-5 before I buy another car, fanatec is going to help me sublimate all my bad decisions in the meantime, but I did like that there happened to be a local listing ending tomorrow right after you mentioned it

I’m not at all surprised it’s in victoria, even though getting big-ticket items onto and off of an island seems like a bigger pain in the ass than getting it across the border, all the fun suburban culture is across the water, here it’s really just the city and the mountains that are appealing, mainland BC suburbs are awful

I looked up how much I’d pay in import fees and threw my hands up, the USG will save me from myself for now

Speaking of islands, though

At 17k I’m sure it’s never had the belts, water pump, and main seals replaced. And I fear it may have a short nose crank. Still, BRG is an amazing color for a Miata. And it has a limited slip diff!

Shame it doesn’t have a tan top to match that gorgeous tan interior.

Still. I’m over here thinking about the logistics of parking a third car in my driveway now :flushed:

I don’t know why I decided to learn what a short nose crank on a 1990-1991 1/2 miata is and how to identify it, but based on the VIN this one should have the updated part

If I ever get an MR2 this is going on it:

Edit: Maybe I’ll get these floor mats for the sad boy some day:

Every time I drive my wife’s 2013 Nissan Altima, I say to myself/her “I hate this fuckin’ car”

I can’t put my finger on it, but I find nearly everything about it irksome.

(Every time I drive my 2009 Volvo S40, I think the same thing, but mostly because it is falling the fuck apart)

I feel the same about various Verse/Altima rentals I’ve had and a Quest my family had - the interior, transmission, steering are all grating.

it’s like if an Avalon was a whole manufacturer

Truly makes me look askance at all those Infinti devotees

I’m convinced we are in the 2nd wave malaise era and Nissan is leading the charge. Their CVTs suck, they make the most abysmal SUVs imaginable. Totally uninspired designs.

They do still carry the Z car torch though so I can’t be too mad.

other than the fact that they are apparently mechanically bad, the '04-09 Nissan Quests seem very fun

You can fold the 2nd row seats backs forward to turn them into footrests for the back row, or further collapse them down mostly flush with the floor

Neat.

The J30 and first gen Q45s are classics.

We had an 06 and the interior was so cheap it made all the bells and whistles more annoying than fun to live with. Hauled an upright bass just fine, though!

I’m starting to feel comfortable playing Grid Autosport on Switch with my Hori wheel.

I’d been practicing around Red Bull Ring and Spa in a Honda Civic and got some pretty good laps in tonight.

So I switched to an Aston Martin Zagato to practice around Brands Hatch—the pairing I’ll face in the next career mode race. I’m sorta feeling the flow of that car around that track, but I’m still spinning far too frequently. Oh well, better luck next time.

Virtua Racing continues to play like a dream with the wheel. But I haven’t figured out good steering settings for Rush Rally 3 yet.

I needed to spend a bit of money to complete my wheel and pedals setup.

I got two cam lock lashing straps holding the peddles in place on the footrest, and that works really well.

I also got a DJ laptop tripod stand to mount the wheel. The telescoping pole swivelled when I steered, so I drilled a hole through it for an old wire lock pin and a toothpick spacer to stop the swivel. This is about 96% effective. I might try to better secure it with a nut, a bolt, and washers.

Placing the wedge cushion backwards on my chair works really well for mimicking the shape of a car seat. It gets my legs in a great position for the peddles.
