E3 2018: 15 years of no new console F-Zero

Hm. I guess it’s a fair criticism.

Though if you stick with it eventually you get an upgrade that let’s you spot those guys ahead of time.

GET hype for:

  • Cyberpunk
  • Sekiro
  • Dmc 5

Would play:

  • Gears Tactics
  • Metro Exodus
  • Forza Horizon
  • Tunic
  • Division 2 if they had a free weekend on steam

did y’all talk about tinybuild’s incredible achievement of the Most Insulting Press Conference Ever

my favorite part of the division 2 footage is that first moment where I thought the player names also listed their myers-briggs type

also fun is the announcement of a method to start games faster, exclusive as a feature to a paid service (the funnest part being that this is actually relevant to modern videogame experience)

So is it just me or did it look like you’d be fighting tornados in Just Cause 4?

damn, Miyazaki has a director credit again

how is he running the company at the same time

I am excited for all of these XbonePC games Microsoft announced

the only thing shown about cyberpunk 2077 up til now was a bunch of bad extremely horny key art wallpapers (in the future women will be a robot and sexy or dead and sexy or both) + wow i can’t wait for cd projekt of all people to handle race in a genre habitually horrible at it so i guess i’m a little curious why so many people were primed to be pumped about this

the obvious answer is “the property plus the developer, not necessarily at the same time” but rhetorical questions aside I think the skepticism is very fair

Technically they could probably make it work for older Xbox store purchases, but the approach seems like it was tailor-made for Game Pass. The way they’re speeding it up is by analyzing tons of data from real players while it isn’t on Game Pass so that they can reorganize data so it’s downloaded in the optimal order one or two years after launch when it comes to Game Pass.

“cyberpunk” is just a really cool looking word.

I just wanted “Witcher 3 but in a cooler setting”

And it’s based on an RPG, so there’s a strong chance you’ll be able to create your character this time and I want to see how they handle that with CD Projekt’s lavish presentation and atmosphere

Going by the Witcher, which features very masculine men and very feminine women, and is generally pretty normative, I don’t think you necessarily should expect different from Cyberpunk, if that sort of thing bothers you (it doesn’t bother me, at least). However, perhaps the setting offers some avenue for more diverse narratives?

I wanted a cyberpunk (genre) game and CD projekt is a great dev so there’s that.

since we’re throwing in our bets on 2077, I expect it to be clumsy with the social commentary, thereby wasting its genre

Oh hey it’s got a secret message by the way:

Apparently some of the random hacking numbers also were keys for Witcher 3.

It has a cool 80’s style sports car. The genre paid off already

Game Pass is currently 1 dollar/euro/pound for the first month as an E3 special

I look forward to the 4 Xbone owners and angry Windows 10 users on selectbutton to take advatange

it’s not clear it works on Windows 10?

no, I mean Windows 10 is bad

The MS press conference was the worst because I ate a whole pizza during it.
