SCP is a sort of microfiction site which catalogues various supernatural or otherwise inexplicable objects and the efforts required by the “SCP Foundation” to identify and control the objects in question. If you’ve ever seen one of the Doctor Who episodes about the “weeping angels”, that’s basically a version of one of the most famous SCP entries. This page is a great starting place.

Worth mentioning it’s the other way round. That entry (which started the whole SCP thing) was written shortly after that episode was aired and was overtly based on it.
