i was so haunted by and curious about this image that i did some research to learn more about it: it’s a crop of what i presume to be a magazine ad for the release of “赤川次郎 魔女たちの眠り ー復活祭ー” (jiro akagawa’s sleep of the witches -easter-), a ps1 re-release of a super famicom visual novel adapting the mystery stories of the author jiro akagawa.
the ad for this re-release advertises the Couple Shock! feature which, if you have two dualshock controllers, will allow a second player to hold onto their own controller and get surprised by vibrations at the same time as the first player so you can get spooked together!
the game itself has a pretty alright cover:
there are two more related games (visual novels adapting stories by the same author) on the playstation, the former with a wonderful cover and the latter with an acceptable one:
they are “赤川次郎 夜想曲” (jiro akagawa’s nocturne) 1&2 respectively.
all three games were re-released for the psone books line of budget releases as the “赤川次郎 ミステリーブックス” (jiro akagawa’s mystery books) collection which all look quite wonderful together, especially as it brings nocturne 2’s art more in line with the first.

Swedish text adventure game for C64 Spökhuset och tre andra spännande äventyr (The Ghost House and three other exciting adventures) I found through random archive.org browsing.
The four adventures included are apparently the titular Ghost House, Faraos Skatter (Pharaoh’s Treasures), Atomubåten (The Nuclear Submarine) and Marsäventyret (The Mars Adventure).
