I was pretty surprised when Yakuza 0 started to delve as much as it did into trafficking, and even coming close to murder and abduction, in one of Majima’s main story sequences. Like, when another business owner was like “haha, no I won’t ask why you have a woman locked away in my storage ; )” that was already dark, but then the whole thing with a body double and drugging a girl… It was suddenly a lot after hours of just fishing and hostess club stuff.
But I think this stuff was probably in previous Yakuzas, I just wasn’t so sensitive and aware and paying attention to it as I am now.
