DEATH STRANDER With a 2 in it šŸ‹ šŸ™ 🦘

the VR missions are really good, i wonder if anyone here would try to compete for high scores lol. they are definitely where some of the more tuned challenge has gone, but even topping the leaderboard isn’t as challenging as, say, some of the basic mission completions in some of the MGS games’ VR missions. i wish it would populate your friends’ scores!

I definitely started out doing them intending to cush whatever numbers bib would have put up before realizing it didnt include your friends list in the scores

It did slightly annoy me you cant build a complete loop with the highway when the start and end are that close to one another, was hoping a couple more highway builders would of shown up between them in the post game at least

I was about ten seconds too slow to complete the final Mr. Impossible order. The timer ran out as I was riding the last zipline to their front door.

Edit: On my second attempt the next day I did it with ten minutes to spare.

I didn’t bother trying to sneak much but jumped from place to place with the Magellan and used a coffin board and some bola stun guns to get in and out quickly.

I lost a coffin board to an electric spear once and had to run to a random zipline to make my way back to the ship. My biggest delay was near Northern Observatory. Those guys swarmed me and I kept falling in the river and getting swept away.

One thing this game sure doesn’t hesitate to do is put you in a lot of low-visibility situations. While it’s sometimes annoying, I don’t think I’d change it.

22 days after I hit the end credits, I reached my real stopping point last night. I didn’t think it would take long to get five star connections with all of the locations, but there ended up being quite a bit more to it and one in particular took me longer than expected.

(Tip: If you think you might want to be a completionist in this way, focus on completing each of The Adventurer’s sub orders right as they become available to avoid having to wait on them when you’re done with everything else.)

It worked out, though, because I decided to round out my LLL rating at 300 and I hit that right before I was able to finish up that last connection. (I think it goes up to 400 but I didn’t want to bother with most of the speed ones, I couldn’t handle some of the combat ones, and I think it would have become more of a chore than anything to keep going anyway.)

I thoroughly enjoyed this game but it’s nice to have it done so I can get back to playing other games again.

kojima says he has an outline for death stranding 3 but he doesn’t want to be the one to make it, I think we heard that for like half the metal gear solid games though

I’m shocked to poorly repeat a praise of Death Strand and Death Strander that I hear on my passive Video Game Live Stream listening (My Life in Gaming every Sunday Night on youtube.)

They mentioned while the games have a lot of dialog, almost all of it is relevant to the game play. People are telling you what is near-by, what enemies are around, what equipment you might need, challenges you might face. While yes it does get very very samey (Rudie editorializing) the dialog feeds into the gameplay in a way that frequently doesn’t happen.

In other news after a long discussion in the dead of night at SBCon I can say I Guess I Like Death Stranding 2: On The Beach? And that is with a question mark.
