i have been completely obsessed with Visions of Chaos lately so i thought i would post some of the output from it here
i know a lot of these have slime themes but i know what i like to see, i love the way the slime in particular is rendered it has qualities that i wish i had

memento mori slime, the output of this program is 512x512 so i stuffed into the ai video upscaler to see if it helps
i love the way skulls / face like blobjects appear

i learned about a new one of these you can run using google collab.
instructions here
it is much better at understanding prompts but the results are still very weird.
i’m going to use it to generate images based on silver jews song and album titles. more results incoming

Unsurprisingly weak because the input is pretty vague and non-visual. I bet if I had let it run for more iterations it would have eventually turned into something, but…
Smith & Jones Forever
(I forgot to include this one at first, oops) This is also a bit underwhelming, but at least it… kind of looks like something? My vibe is that it’s a combination of an album cover and something vaguely sports related. Still very abstract…
Night Society
Here we go! This one is much cooler. Had no idea what I expected, but not this. It weirdly reminds me of my high school. I have no idea why there are palm trees, but also… I kind of do.
Federal dust
This is probably my second favorite because of how literal it is. As we shall see that doesn’t always work out, even when the input is pretty straightforward. After this I just switched it to stop after 200, I think the earlier three are 150.
People (Suburban kids with biblical names)
I cheated with this one and used a memorable lyric rather than the song title, because I figured “people” would be boring. I’m happy with it, especially because of the apparent jesus / unidentified haloed person in the bottom left corner.
Blue Arrangements
It didn’t occur to me that this would come out as “flower arrangements,” but in retrospect that makes perfect sense

This one is so vague, but I like the way it is trying to spell “real.” Seems vaguely pornographic?

I expected this one to be way more boring. I have no idea why there is a person coming out of the clouds, I like to pretend it is an emergent Malkmus

Probably the most abstract and yet still vaguely legible as a death’s head and I guess some generalized violence

I… was expecting rabbits? There’s a little one in the bottom I guess.
Honk if you’re lonely
Disappointed by this one, though it is cute that it looks like it is trying to spell “honk.” I think based on the “We are real” one I was expecting the word “lonely” to make it more sexual.
The Wild Kindness
Strong finish - I think this the best because it’s also actually aesthetically pleasing instead of just being funny to look at.
I like it so much I want to share the earlier versions to show how it works.
This is the first one, they all start like this:

ive noticed a lot of the time when i do slime that the word slime kinda appears in the results
i tried Jazz Cafe and it really phoned it in

I tried to make you a slime jazz cafe and it was kind of a disaster, though weirdly it did seem to be able to guess your preferred color palette (at least as far as i can tell based on your avatar and signature
as you can see it’s mostly slime, not much jazz cafe other than the vague suggestion of a brass instrument at the bottom, and maybe a keyboard?
i tried again with a little less slime, and a little more jazz cafe. somewhat more promising results:
but here the slime is barely noticeable. perhaps its in the drinks?
a funny trick they recommend is just to put ‘hd’ or ‘photorealistic’ in your description. let’s see how that works.
I also think “Jazz cafe” might be throwing it off somehow. I am trying “Slime” “Jazz band” “hd desktop wallpaper”
It seems “Slime jazz” must remain an abstract concept

Uh oh. @eska pointed this thread out to me. I’ve been using the VQ+GAN AI from the @images_ai account on Twitter (as anyone who follows me on Twitter probably already knows since I’ve been spamming uploads of my various abominations there). I’ll share some of my best ones in here. I’ve had a lot of interesting results from playing with it for two days non-stop.
