come spy w/ me

god this is exactly it, isn’t it?

excited to play these whenever they drop. the visuals look really great. and 60s spy schlock is close to some of my personal interests.

i dont want to use them for everything but really like how these clay tiles came out in game. i’ve been cheating and using the gimp “seamless tile” button for some of them though which does arguably go against the spirit of the thing…

also been having fun using pastels for the first time, or at least trying to blend them as you’re meant to for the first time. it’s fun but hard trying not to go smudge crazy. feels like this will be really good for big smeary oversaturated skyboxes.

wow… bumpmapping… but real

I keep seeing screenshots for the game and wondering what the main character is wearing, exactly. Like I get the t-shirt, but underneath it’s like, a full body tattoo, or like a patterned bodysuit?! I do like the idea of a spy with incredibly identifiable tattoos…

a patterned dancer’s unitard! a funny thing is i didn’t know this when i grabbed it from the cdrom heap, but the pattern used is a japanese one called “karakusa” and it’s apparently associated with sneaks and robbers.

i’m hoping to do these as episodes again which gives me a lot of leeway for abrupt and offputting turns into religious symbolism down the line, just like in Digimon, this is one of the main powers of episodic media which i’ve perhaps been sadly neglecting

Wow, ya know I was thinking at first it reminded me of the kinds of patterns on Ainu clothing…
