one of our cats is having a herpes outbreak / upper respiratory infection (did you know that many cats have herpes…) so he has been very tired and sad
he also barfed the other day and then stopped eating so we took him to the vet and got all kinds of confusing medications. but long story short he seems to be eating fine again and is recovering with only two of the less weird medications. anti biotic eye drops and like pepto bismol for cats (you gotta squirt it in their mouth and the vet tech told us it tastes like birthday cake :3) in this pic you can see he’s still kind of holding one eye shut but he’s doing even better now
i hate it when cats are sick, they can’t just tell you what’s wrong

yeah it’s heartbreaking to see my little dudes not living life to the fullest and also giving a cat medicine is hilariously awful

meowzbow had herpes too, he wouldnt eat or clean himself during outbreaks. BATHING HIM WAS ACTUALLY TOTALLY EASY AND FINE but I’d have to explain through tears why i had to squirt food in his mouth with a tube

I lucked out on the pain meds with Severa a few weeks ago. Hid them in pill pockets w/ a scattering of others and she’d just eat them all.
Tried insisting on dinner (but not breakfast) in her hiding spot for a while after she was clearly feeling better, though. Took weird stuff out on her sister. Cats!
