the railgun was supposed to let it launch the warhead undetectably by not using propellant and also be a loophole by not technically meeting the definition of ballistic weaponry in anti-nuke treaties
Thatās just Rex though, the TX-55 and MG-D where just chucking IRBMs. Shagohod at least had its whole running start thing to give it range mobile launchers of the day couldnāt pull off. Really itās the whole matter of the situation of who has them in the early games thatās the actual big deal, what with Outer Heaven being Outer Heaven, and in MG2 as originally presented nuclear disarmament had basically worked but then Zanzibar Land stole MG-D and then raided disposal sites and became essentially the only nuclear power all of the sudden.
But IIRC Kojima has stated that it was basically rule of cool, the Soviets had their mobile land based launchers but the US never really jumped on board that train so he was like what if the US did it but with a big robot?
oh⦠pretendingā¦

release the otasune tapes!
Metal Gear Solid 3 is finally on PC now. I played through it just to make sure and Iām glad to report that Kojimaās vision is intact: they didnāt remove the Calorie Mate item. I guess licensed food doesnāt have an expiry date!! Yes, it made it to PC in one piece. They didnāt rename it to fuckin⦠Snake Mate or something. Calorie Mate!!! If you were a dumbass like me you went out to your local asian grocer back in 2004 and bought as many as you could carry.
Were you then like āholy crap this sucks.ā
I kind of forgot what it tasted like, but nothing terrible? Sort of like a dry, dense shortbread.
i like caloriemates but i also like hardtack and saltines
i still get cheese/chocolate/maple when theyāre on sale
when i was in japan i won a GIANT calorie mate from a saturn catcher and two days after that i fuckin hated caloriemates for a bit
hahaha chocolate is very divisive
