Many times as a teenager, I would pick up a “difficult work” and think “Maybe I’ll try again when I’m older.” This usually works out. Case in point, I’m listening to Schoenberg and loving it. I had a real good time with 3 Kalvierstucke, Op. 11 as performed by Glenn Gould. It’s just great music to lie down and listen to with headphones on.
