bulletin witch

I watched their recent Yacht Club Presents thingy and I am now excited for Cyber-Shadow.

Also, Shovel Knight Pocket Dungeon is doing that thing where your partner wraps their arm around you and then your back itches and you didn’t even realize it until now but only because you know someone’s there to scratch it for you, except for video games

Wait. this is definitely a different video game that I saw in development on twitter. Is this a spinoff or did it just happen to get the shovel knight IP?

Someone made a mod for Sonic 2 that turns the rings into onion rings, and getting rings makes Sonic gain weight and slow down

I remember seeing art at least along these lines, like… 10, 15 years ago. Was it an actual mod back then, or just Funny Art?

Odds of this mod having a horrible joke about diabetes? Fairly high.

the mods been around for about a decade yeah

it doesn’t have any jokes in it, as far as i can remember. since it’s a sonic 2 hack and doesn’t really have any text.

it’s fun though

The onion ring mod is a fun joke when your friend just hands you the controller with you being none the wiser and then running into a big group of rings and you get a game over and they till you to chill on the onion rings.

Design wise I think it’s fun exercise for the player to gauge how much and how fast they pick up what we have been conditioned to do in all video games. It adds another layer to how you navigate the levels.

This sounds small and good

it is very minimal and very cool but when you say that about an RTS that means you’re playing an auto-builder like Galactic Conquest and that is anti-appealing to me

i wonder if the god damn loading times will be as bad as on xbox

it’s seriously borderline unplayable

The name caught my eye and was of course disappointed but still interested in how this goes:

Ziggurat is a publisher who plans to remaster (might just be get working enough so they can sell it on Steam, who knows) whatever old games they can get their hands on. Looking into it they actually seem to have already been doing this for a bit and just maybe sent out a press release about it? So far they got

  • Darklands (MicroProse, 1992)
  • Slave Zero (Infogrames North, 1999)
  • A bunch of hunting and war games by TNT team that…

Trying to figure it out and it just gets more intricate. Apparently games li

FAKE EDIT: Fuck this. There are like 8 different publishers and subsidiaries involved and they’re all just playing tennis with whatever rights to old IPs they have lying around. A bunch of games were on GoG published by Retroism who are a publishing label for Tommo Inc. who acquired a bunch of garbage when Atari went bankrupt (the fake Infogrames one that just bought the name and logo in 2007) but they also own Accolade stuff (but Hong Kong Billionsoft actually owns the brand name Accolade and use it to publish games now?) because they are responsible for the new Bubsy games? Some of their games also have the name ValuSoft on them who were once a part of THQ but are now owned by Cosmi which is a company that once sold OpenOffice in stores? Anyway, these games were mostly removed from GoG in December last year with no explanation but stayed on Steam and last month the name Ziggurat appeared on them who might be just a new publishing division for Cosmi?

Anyway just gonna stop caring and copy a list of their games from their website so this post has a point

  • Forbidden Forest - Atari 8-bit, Commodore 64, 1983
  • Super Huey - Commodore 64, 1985
  • Darklands - PC, 1992
  • Fields of Glory - PC, AMIGA, 1993
  • Marco Polo - Philips CD-I, PC, 1994
  • Central Intelligence - PC, 1994
  • NAM - PC, 1998
  • Slave Zero - Sega Dreamcast, 1999
  • Deadly Dozen - PC, 2001
  • Line of Sight: Vietnam - PC, 2003

So exciting. Wow.
