Seems like we’re having a bit of an Tactical RPG movement. Recent stuff for Xcom 2. Phoenix Point. Dark Crystal tactics. League of Legends tactical RPG. And now a Gears of War tactical turn based game.
empire of sin?
some idiots on twitter are losing their minds over vin’s one race t-shirt, like we didn’t all hash this out at Race Wars in the desert years ago
I didn’t want the game awards so I missed all the scalding hot announcements.
Hey LW I got this joke.
XBOXSEX
This looks great. Someone page @Telengard
I believe that even though he became a shitty millionaire my kid will be able to resist the temptations of deep space superprince
it’s a bit strange because this seemingly happened already in the couple of years after the xcom revival, but in hindsight that was mostly indies. those designs mostly became very derivative very quickly though (with the exception of invisible inc) and I don’t have a lot of faith that these aren’t just going through the motions either (though the new fire emblem was abnormally good), so I’m reserving judgment
I would absolutely play the new fast and furious game even if it’s just split second with Michelle Rodriguez
I’m glad they gave it to one of the few studios who won’t phone it in
this and NMH3 are probably the most pleasant surprises of the evening
I’m already looking at the sexbox and thinking how well it’s going to fit in under the TV but also I have an SG-13 under my TV so there’s already a big, weird air tunnel of a rectangle that can play 4 generations of games there
did the cowards add a gyro and make back paddles standard yet
Yeah and Gamepass means you can keep using your SG-13

the art looks amazing here. price point makes me wanna buy it
that the game awards literally contain game announcements and trailers make something already stupid deeply fucking embarrassing. like, embarrassed-to-know-what-video-games-are embarrassing*
*lots of things do this
I look at it like, why does the video game industry need a boring awards ceremony no one cares about to use as a vessel for new product announcements. They already have weirdly public trade shows to do that at
frankly it’s the only language their audience speaks. corporate hype.
(helped by the fact that literally no gamer knows how to talk or think about a game once it exists. there is only frothing anticipation and celebrations of sales (and harassing women and various kinds of minorities).)
