A friend of mine just released his game on Steam and Switch!
I thought no one liked RE3
I think its a great concept, though. Which could be expanded in a remake. And I wanna see Nemesis with new graphics tech.
This is literally the first time I’ve heard this.
it being more of an RE2 derivative than any other mainline RE sequel in the first place does make it more of a shoe in I guess
I feel like I’ve only heard that people prefer code veronica and view RE3 as kind of just an incoherent retread of 2 but I mean, I haven’t played either and I’m also a dumbass
fair enough
i’d say 3 is way fucking better than CV, which i consider to be extremely bad!
i don’t actually know how bad it is because it was so bad that i stopped playing
yeah, my memories of it are faint, but I think CV was if anything like a failed attempt to not just make another RE2, whereas 3 was a basically well-liked attempt at the opposite
I think the main complaints with RE3 were that its shorter, and mostly inconsequential to the story. If…you…care…about…Resident Evil’s story.
I think some people also didn’t like that it spends some of the game retreading part of the police station. But…its a really nice looking upgrade to the police station, so I was cool on that.
CV in some ways feels very similar in tone to Revelations 2 for me. I think the 3d environments worked well because every area felt like you were scouring a meticulously crafted diorama. It was my first RE so it’s one of my favorite ones, but it’s possible it hasn’t aged well. I’ll have to revisit it soon.
i really like 3 but it’s definitely kind of visually and structurally incoherent compared to 2, which makes it a better candidate for a slick aaa remake than the latter, which suffered both from modernizations that threw off its design & aesthetic integrity and from not being re1make, the most perfect game that exists.
bring back dino crisis
you know, i was wondering what could be more obnoxious than mr x hoofing it after you every three seconds, and capcom answered
Wasn’t Mr. X only in a special post-game mode, in the original RE2? I…don’t remember him at all, except in that context. (which I might have made up?)
He was only in the b scenario. he’s a little too present in the remake. and they don’t even have the cutscene showing him get air dropped in so he just weirdly comes out of nowhere unexplained
the way they handled Mr. X in the re2 remake makes me wonder what kind of ridiculously evil shit they’re going to do with Nemesis in this one since now they have “he has a fucking rocket launcher” and “he can sprint” to work with
i liked Mr. X In the remake ok, like it was a clever swerve to just have him the whole game for people who originally played RE2, but im ambivalent about it. leon’s reaction to him showing up in the final stretch of the game is funny though
is there a resident evil 2 remake mod that replaces mr x with baron von blubba? I’ve seen scary clown and talking train car ones
