bulletin witch

this guy who was involved w/ the english patch/dub of ys 4: dawn of ys somehow (he claims to have come in late and “pushed it across the finish line”) is a total maga chud and i can’t help but lurk. it’s unfortunate!! dawn of ys rules and the fan dub is really nice. i am trying not to look too deeply into all this, but i guess he also had a big falling out w/ xseed people over their policy of not crediting some people who’ve done work on games they translate and publish, which is… hm.

anyway, uh. ys is cool, this dork is not.

Yeah that dude has been nutting it up for years on his Ys fan site. He’s a real piece of work.

Scroll down if you wanna see some pretty out there posts. Poor photoshops, Triumph the Insult Comic Dog, the works. It definitely won’t enrich your life to click that though, just uhhh if you’re morbidly curious.

I enjoy the fact that this is only Bubble Bobble 4, because despite there being at least three Bubble Bobble 2s, only Bubble Memories is Bubble Bobble 3

it’s clearly inspired by desert bus and I guess it meant to be funny haha or whatever but tbh I’m extremely into the idea of this game as a straight faced, just mildly enthused examination of its subject matter

Journey To Lavender Town (2019) is a 27-hour piece of video art I made earlier this year. It is footage of a game of Pokémon Red, where the game is gradually corrupted as the player plays the game.

December 17th. The last game of the decade…

PSB: All your games are endearingly weird. Do you have to put additional effort into achieving quirkiness, or does it come completely naturally?
KT: All my games are not endearingly weird.

the saga gacha game

There’s no way any of the SaGa mobile games should come out in English and yet Kawazu was not satisfied with only releasing remasters of RS3 and SG on every modern system in the West. Kawazu’s power over reality is limitless.

Ff14: Shadowbringers raid should have been SaGa based for the 30th anniversary.

With the game scene being as diverse as it is and the kinds of systems and “feel” based games that have made waves, I think SaGa games are unique enough that they could potentially do a lot better now in the West than they could have for the past couple of decades. It taps into both people’s affection for JRPGs that’s been somewhat underserved recently while still being different enough for people looking for something new. I think an HD port of Minstrel Song would be real swell. I’m curious to see how Scarlet Grace Ambitions is received too (though I don’t think that one fits into the JRPG genre itself).
