Backgrounds don’t look as bad as I was anticipating. The high res character models and other things made out of polygons really pop off them though. They don’t mesh as well as they did when everything was lower res.

it’s mostly done in scenes with crowds and stuff and mostly isn’t noticable

Yeah it wasn’t noticeable when everything was pixelated. Sure is now though lol.
It’s just a representation of how Squall sees himself as more important and refined than all those blurry, insignificant peasants around him

that blur on the backgrounds looks real bad. Can’t put lipstick on a low res pig. It would have been cool if it were a switchable filter.
I’m hoping someone can get one of the AI upscale backgrounds projects working, with this. But who knows.
I don’t know why they can’t just do a crt filter
fucked up shame that high-spec crt filtering is not built in at system level on all contemporary platforms

if the recent phantasy star sega ages port on switch can have a good looking crt filter, there’s no reason this game can’t.

I’m hearing that FF8 remaster has 8 way on the analog stick, instead of full analog control, like the original game. And possibly no vibration to the controller.
from footage I’ve seen it looks that way. I’ve only seen weird angular movement.

The fonts on the ff8 remaster are default CJK Microsoft word font in the worst way.
