bulletin witch

I would’ve been pleased (if underwhelmed) however this one turned out but having read some of the previews I’m excited for how these new elements are going to play out.

Of course most of this time will be spent playing Horde mode, at wave 49, dying repeatedly while other players quit one-by-one.

john carmacks shirt on JRE says ‘i dont get older i level up’ wearing the shirt of a 12 year old doesnt keep you from aging buddy

Yeah I’m curious as well. It sounds like standard open world fare but the last game was really pretty and it looks like this one will be even more colorful. They kept the shooting feeling good in the last one and if they can keep doing that then I don’t see how they can lose by making the levels bigger.

DQ11 is definitely not this

DQ11 definitely has some weird right-wing stuff esp. with monarchist politics but it’s definitely not ultra-conservative hell

It’s absolutely still grounded in ‘royals are thus because they are inherently the best and most moral’ but it’s not especially foregrounded

i wanna say it’s not foregrounded because it’s not actually the message. it’s also still grounded in loss and an acceptance of one’s inability to have things (or people) back, except perhaps at a very high cost. reconciliation and friendship are underscored as vital bonds, whether we’re kings or thieves. idk. dragon quest 11 makes me feel good like most other new games don’t.

Like all Dragon Quests, it feels like it’s grounded in the calm wisdom of middle-age

and such a contrast to the emotional tenor of all other games, which feel like and are written by newly-powerful mid-30s-olds

listen these are just my impressions after an hour, I’m not saying this is objectively true of the game as a whole

He does have perpetual teenager mindset; it kind of rules.

I listened to it at 3x while doing dishes. He says a few not great things and nothing too new if you’ve listened to any of his VR keynote speeches, but he has developed a self-awareness of not being a person to ask “people” questions of, which softens some of his bourgeois capitalist views.

I will play this in full and robust expectation that the campaign will suck shit at least as badly as all the prior episodes have

this is not going to go well for anyone
it sucks for his family obviously, its gonna rally the zoe-hate army which will take it out on all women in games again

i wish we had proper mental health care and rehabilitation for everyone involved, accusers and accused alike

like alec hated my goddamn guts with a PASSION! he thought i was one of the most unprofessional vulgar people and i didnt belong in games
the part about him working on getting better for the past few years and the thing that caused this being more than a few years old really stinks

its been five years almost to the day since gamergate 1.0

it also stinks how all of this has completely overshadowed natalie and EVERY OTHER PERSON WHO CAME FORWARD, and with the suicide no ones gonna give a shit about what victims say

decided to skip pax parties this weekend
