Does anyone watch it? I enjoy it. I haven’t seen tonight’s new episode but yeah. I also credit it for introducing me to Hannibal Burress.

I still think the pegging episode in season 2 is the best they did, but this season is good too. I feel like a lot of comedy series take a bit to actually get funny but not Broad City, maybe because they had their web show for a while and they’re IRL best friends who met in an improv class.

People compare it to Girls a lot, probably because of the whole young NYC Jewess thing, but it’s different, and probably better.

Open to suggestions for a more fun and SB thread title.

yeah I’m a huge fan. their jokes don’t always land for me but I honestly started feeling better about my generation as a whole when this show first started airing

Right? It’s such a positive and uplifting show. Something I noticed is on the pre-Comedy Central web show they argue more, which they almost never do on the series. I think they or someone in charge of them just wanted to make the most feel-good show and said their characters should never fight because that wouldn’t be conducive.

Yeah, I like this show a lot! I’m not even sure that I laugh all that much when I watch it, but I find them very endearing. It’s addictive.

Haven’t seen anything in the third season yet.

A bunch of separate groups of friends have been working really hard to get me to watch it, which hasn’t happened since Adventure Time.

I’m concerned I remind everyone of a character or something.

It’s possible that Hillary Clinton stuff in tonight’s episode felt less disingenuous when they shot it but man it tastes sour

I would’ve been more confused if the ex of mine who went to yale law wasn’t genuinely excited about Hillary and whatnot

I actually stopped watching this after the Hillary episode because it offended my sensibilities, I’m an idiot

or rather, I love white women until they’re middle class eastern seaboard types, then I’m upset

The first two episodes of season 2 are really not very good and the tone is immediately different and scattershot compared to the delightful and incredibly well-composed season 1. Is the rest of it like this? Cause I should probably jump off.

episodes 3 and 4 of season 2 are both pretty good so you shouldn’t bail yet, but the rest of it is hit or miss

ok yeah these were really funny

man it’s so weird how bad those first two episodes were!

somehow it got turned into lady-workaholics or something, and i read reviews and it’s like either

“OMG I RELATE” or “THE BROAD CITY GALS ARE AT THEIR ZANY BEST!!!”

uh ok

anyway that first season is masterful, i hope it has similar high points and doesn’t wholly do that thing shows do where all the good writers leave and a bunch of young chumps go in and put together crap from character notes. “bevers has a couch sore 'cause he’s so gross and abbi has to train him!” waste of time in the sitcommiest way.

it is significantly better in lower key. ilana forgets hannibal’s birthday and has actually zero repercussions, to the point where i don’t remember which of those two episodes it even happens in. in season 1 it would be the entire episode.
