I wonder if Wario Blast is canon to Wario canon. Like do they ever give him a giant bomb in other games and people understand it’s in reference to Wario Blast?

Heavy is the head that drops the bomb…

Just ask this extremely upset-looking bomberman with his BORN TO KILL face tattoo:

Though not always! 3D Bomber seems like he’s enjoying himself at least:

i keep forgetting that amazing bomberman exists, which was an apple arcade exclusive that only lasted a couple years before it got shut down.

it looks really nice but only seems to be a time attack variation of bombermans multiplayer with the time determined by the length of the music video in the background. i feel like youre not missing much by just watching a playthrough of all the stages (of which there a are only 11).

Really really love that art style for Bomberman. I wish the in-game art had that too, but, super charming version of Bomberman all the same.

Definitely have never heard of it either.

Amazing Bomberman has some bangers in its OST though; I wish it got a soundtrack release.

My favorite are:

Whenever this song pops up in my playlist, I forget it’s even from Amazing Bomberman of all places lol:

Spurred on by this recent Bombermania, I’ve decided to dip back into my hit thread Midlife Time Crisis and beat Bomberman 64, Bomberman Hero, and Bomberman 64: The Second Attack:

Ive actually learned a bit about bomberman in here I thought I was a bomber knower!
Time to catch up!

In college a friend and I assembled a 10 player saturn bomber man setup and had a bomber party complete with themed cookies. I posted about it back on insert credit. Ill see if I can dig up the pictures. It was a riot, play it if you get the chance.

I have now tried and bailed on Bomerman Hero, finding it a particularly rough play that feels like it was aimed at very young kids, more of a virtual sandbox than a game. And I like virtual sandboxes! Probably my favorite N64 game was the stunt track in Rush 2! But this was completely braindead.

Looking into it, apparently it started as a Bonk game, got cancelled, and was reworked into this. Definitely feels like a Mario 64 clone that couldn’t capture a lot of what made that game work. My full thoughts:

That said, the music is very very fun,

It is known for its drum and bass and acid techno soundtrack, composed by Jun Chikuma. She went on to say that Bomberman Hero was “the most remarkable title in terms of music among the Bomberman series”.

So yeah, I’ve moved on to Bomberman 64: The Second Attack, which, after a rough sewer level start, has been a lot, lot better.

Some home town friends and i got into score attacking the stunt box a few years ago. Best setup seemed to be the vw bus with what ever the max engine is. We just called it “trick van”.

Despite the callousness of kicking my buddy Eric to the curb, I must concede that his replacement is… really god damned cute

Just spent the last few minutes gazing lovingly at images of him in Star Parodier:

it’s funny you say that because while i remember some open-ish levels, i mainly remember the game for really linear level design, like more open crash bandicoot hallways

i never finished it, the controls are awful and it’s way too easily to accidentally plummet to your death

Saw this at the casino last weekend

I wanted to play but the old ladies on it literally never left their seats for the 40 min I watched

Reminds me of how parents don’t let their kids play games because it rots their brains and then they turn around and get hooked on this

Old ladies have been hooked on slots since before videogames were invented. That’s how they know it rots your brain

i was going to say “imagine if they added characters and storylines to slot machines”, but that’s pretty much what pachislot has been for the past 30 years, isn’t it?
