best backseat gamming gams

Had a good time backseat gaming The Sims with my ex many years ago

This might require a really particular group of people, but it’s something I’ve done on a couple occasions—what about those Japanese style adventure games like Snatcher or Dead of the Brain?

The almost systematic method required to work through all the menu options to trigger the next event actually makes having a couple brains keeping tabs on the options beneficial. Plus they lean so heavily on long story segments, you get practically the same experience not holding the controller for much of the game.

FMV adventure games like Beast Within and Angel Devoid are spectacular for this.

I’ve really been enjoying watching my wife play through Great Ace Attorney, I’ve even accurately predicted a few cases, so I think that fits

My roommate who bought me RE8 watched me play through all of it. It was really fun

it was zero percent scary and very hammy, like a high school stage play

Also like a high school play it’s brimming with pathos that made me laugh out loud at inappropriate times

ah just remembering getting your first…jar? Luckily THE DUKE has a friendly word of advice and takes it in stride

I really appreciate that in making an RE4 fangame they took the iconic merchant head-on

I remember enjoying playwatching Firewatch but I wonder how that would hold up now.

It is a little damning that I found multiple listicles of games for “people who like Life is Strange” that consist of Telltale’s The Walking Dead and every David Cage game.

Remembered I bought but never got around to playing Afterparty. I should check that out.

Yeah and when you combine the two together you get adventure games which are the absolute best for this. Still remember how much fun we had when @Tulpa streamed Quern, a Riven-like, and we all jointly solved it together

Have for years now preferred to watch my housemates play whatever weird jrpg over playing anything myself

Currently it is xenoblade chronicles x which i already enjoyed watching a different housemate play like 4 years ago

No idea how it holds up but really enjoyed group playing Catherine 10 years ago.

This inspired me to look up the stuff they added to the new one and hachi machi that’s bad.

I played the original one in 2016 and it’s bad for the same reasons. Persona Team should have run out of mulligans after 4 imo.
