Amnesia: Rebirth by Sleep

I found out about this because people who have some seriously wack criticisms about the story in this game did the digging, but I am curious what this kind of out-sourcing/consultation work actually entails with a game like this.

Talespinners claims to have contributed to the Coding, Direction, Narrative Design, Story Design and Writing for Amnesia Rebirth. To what extent is what I’m curious about because I just would figure if Frictional didn’t have the story and plot of a game already at hand from the start they probably wouldn’t even have much of a direction to begin projects, since they’re not really iterating hugely on there engine or their game design.

Edit: ah it doesn’t really seem like a consultancy more like a collective. the lead story writer of Rebirth is part of them, so technically Tailspinners contributed to the game. As with most angry gamer controversies this is less interesting than expected!!

Well, I beat this game a few days ago. idk. I think I liked it? The fort was the highlight for me, but the whole pathblocking throughout the game got so absurd that when that elevator broke near the end I actually laughed out loud. Anyway, I haven’t really thought about the game much since beating it, so I suppose it’s kind of a disappointing followup considering how great SOMA was.
