Iirc the first one didn’t but this looks … Odd. Idk what to make of foregrounding brolin and del toro. I guess it could just be the most depressing movie of all time instead!
I guess it doesn’t matter because people will watch it and think “wow right wing death squads are so cool” no matter what the movie might be trying to say

shrug I’ve been reading this book about old dads getting back together as an adventure troup in a fantasy world. it includes
- a type of murder that can only be described as “testicular asphyxiation”
a lot of weirdly positive queer stuff for a fantasy book about dads
just a lot of dad stuff. the main character is a dad. someone dies being a dad. there’s hammers and swords and stuff given almost realistic depictions
there’s a Y in it
it’s adventurers as 80’s glam rock bands

thrilling vanadium stories
45 seconds in and my thought process has been ‘yeahbuddeee’ -> ‘wait 50 minutes?’ -> ‘isn’t, like, ALL metal ancient bud’
They lay on the “ANCIENT SECRETS WOOOOOOO” stuff pretty heavy at the outset yeah but then you get to see some old hickish dude in Florida making wootz with some curious Jordanian smiths there to collaborate just a real international brethrenhood of metalfolks it’s kind of charming.
At least if you’re a shrug. Your mileage may vary.
