I actually only do this when a post is so much in a person’s voice that I hear them speaking it in my head. Otherwise, words don’t really exist in my head as audio unless I’m writing them. It’s interesting how differently people process stuff!!

ac valhalla has 153ms median input latency on ps5. that’s nearly 10 frames!
edit: ok that’s on quality mode, it’s only 53 ms in 60 FPS mode, phew. i was freaking out for a minute there. don’t play on quality mode folks
i don’t have any of these consoles but input latency is one of my bugbears

I’m reminded of the conspiracy theory that Google chose Assassin’s Creed as an early demo game for Stadia at conventions because it was already so laggy to handle inputs that the cloud tax was barely noticeable

AC’s got latency partly by design in the first place, because they need it for the fancy animation systems to figure out how to make you move.

The more I see of this (and almost every game) the less interested I become. I feel like I’m entering a grouchy old age that I vowed I never would. I want to be surprised and soul kindled by games again. I feel like I’ve heard all of these lines in 25 other titles. I thought the simultaneous reality thing was cool but all it leads to is light world duck world MGS 3 cutscene stuff and it’s not as interesting as it was in 2004.
